Is Drum Corps Your Passion?
The drum and bugle corps experience is like no other; combining a passion for performance with a dedication to skill development and working with others to achieve a performance goal.
What is Shenandoah Sound?
Shenandoah Sound is a marching arts organization based in Prince William County, VA. We currently sponsor Sonus Brass Theater, an all-age DCI SoundSport team, and Sound United Indoor Drumline, a member of Atlantic Indoor Association.
We are also a chartered Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew, which provides leadership opportunities for our young men and women ages 14-21.
We are members of the Prince William Arts Council and receive funding from the Prince William Parks Authority. We made our first appearance at the Arts Alive! festival in 2012 and look forward to many more local performances in the future.
Where do we perform?
We appear in many local parades such as the 4th of July parades in the Baltimore area, the Apple Blossom parade in Winchester, VA and the Christmas Parade in Manassas. Sonus Brass Theater performs in DCI SoundSport events culminating in the competition in Indianapolis, IN. Sound United competes in AIA shows throughout Northern Virginia and WGI sponsored events.
What is all-age?
All-age simply means there are no age restrictions. You don’t “age-out” at 22. Our members are all ages but they have one desire — to perform.
As an education organization, we prepare many high school members to meet their goals of marching in a DCI corps or continuing to play and perform beyond high school.
Shenandoah Sound was founded to advance the art of music through education in the marching drum and bugle corps tradition.
Where and when do our groups practice?
All rehearsals are held on weekends. Check the each website for dates and times.
