Chad Kirk

Brass - VA
 

Chad began marching in 1995 with the Magic of Orlando, and went on to age out with the corps in 1999. Returning to Magic in 2000 on Brass Staff, Chad stayed with the corps, holding positions ranging from instructional staff, Director of Micro-Magic, to administrative duties with the corps. Chad also has experience with Class "A" DCA drum corps with the two time DCA Class "A" World Champions Heat Wave. Chad again served in instructional, administrative, and performing roles in 2001-2002 serving as Baritone soloist, Brass Caption Head and Vice-President. Chad's experience with the marching activity began in 1992 with the Lake Howell Silver Regiment, a Bands of America Regional Finalist. Chad is currently a Staff Sergeant (Select) in The Commandant's Own, the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps. Chad is the euphonium section leader, and was chosen to introduce that instrument to the brass choir of the corps for the first time in 2006. He has performed as a soloist on many live recordings with the corps, as well as for heads of state, foreign dignitaries, and our armed forces all over North America and in Europe. Chad includes many people in his list of influences, including Howard Weinstein, Charles Watford, Ron Ellis, Mike Roylance, Vincenzo Palazzolo, Jim Drass, Frank Williams, and Robert W Smith. Chad has been a member of The Lake Howell Silver Regiment, The University of Central Florida Marching Knights, Magic of Orlando, Heat Wave, and The Commandant's Own. Chad has instructed Heat Wave, The Boston Crusaders, Teal Sound, Magic of Orlando, Lake Howell High School, West Orange High School, Boone High School, Dr. Phillips School for the Performing Arts, the United States Naval Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, and has served as a consultant for many esteemed high school programs throughout the Southeast. Chad has had the distinct privilege of performing along side Trace Atkins, Arturo Sandoval, Barry Bostwick, and Chuck Mangione, also performing live on ESPN, FOX, and NBC. Chad is currently toward a Bachelors in Intelligence Studies with a focus in special operations/low intensity conflict from American Military University. He resides in Alexandria with his Wife Gabrielle.
